About Angus

Brisbane-born Angus Waddell represented Australia across a decade at the 1982 Commonwealth Games; the 1990 Commonwealth Games; and the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona.

Remarkably, he's the only athlete in history to have competed in both Track & Field and Swimming events at the Commonwealth Games.

Faced with injury, the process of transition from High Jump to Swimming at an elite level was no mean feat. It required courage, resilience and a deep determination to overcome, adapt and change.

After reflecting, realigning and retraining, Angus went on to win silver for Australia in the Men's 50m Freestyle at the Auckland Commonwealth Games in 1990. He then represented Australia at the 1992 Olympic Games.

He now shares his uplifting and entertaining story with corporate, government and educational institutions.

About our frog! The "Spring & Sprint" frog represents Angus' journey from one discipline to another.  Frogs are multi-skilled and adaptable. Wearing track shoes and goggles, our frog jumps and swims - just as Angus has done!
